Barbra Streisand has recorded over 60 albums in her career, starting with her debut self-titled album released in 1963 (although she was featured on albums for "I Can Get It For You Wholesale", a broadway play, and "Pins and Needles", a musical revue, both released in 1962).
Her initial albums followed suit with her broadway singing career, consisting of renditions of classic theater and nightclub songs. In the 1970s, however, Barbra Streisand began to change her focus. Her albums comprised more classical stlyed rock and pop songs. By the 1980s, she had secured her place as one of the most successful female vocalists in the world of rock, selling more albums than any other female artist.
