Live is an alternative rock/grunge band comprised of Ed Kowalczyk (lead vocals & guitar) Chad Taylor (lead guitar), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass), and Chad Gracey (drums). Since approximately 1999, Live has toured with Ed's younger brother, Adam Kowalczyk as a rhythm guitarist, and, previously, British keyboardist Michael "Railo" Railton.
Live was formed in the early 1980s under the name First Aid. Live released the album, The Death of a Dictionary under the name Public Affection. Several more name changes followed until they came to be known as Live.
In 1994, Live released their breakthrough album, Throwing Copper. Throwing Copper reached #1 on the United States charts, and eventually reached 8x platinum (sales over 8million copies).
Live has become an immensely popular group, with Live tickets selling very fast.
