The Adolescents are a punk rock group from California formed in 1980. The group had a hardcore sound that quickly brought them to the forefront of the California punk rock scene. Their self titled album released in 1981 was one of the best selling punk rock albums of the time. Despite their popularity, and after several lineup changes, the group broke up in 1982.
In 1986, The Adolescents reformed with their original lineup and began working on a new album. The group recording two more albums and toured extensively before disbanding once again in 1989. They reformed in 2001 to perform a 20th anniversary tour, and have been touring and recording ever since.
