Peter Murphy is an English gothic-rock singer and the vocalist of Bauhaus. Bauhaus was one of the pioneering groups of the gothic-rock movement. Their use of theatrical aesthetics, such as appearing on stage as vampires or rising from coffins to perform, as well as the use of spacy recording effects, helped establish them as prominent members of the burgeoning genre.
