No Doubt is an alternative rock and ska punk band from Anaheim, California which formed in 1986. The ska pop sound of their self-titled debut album, released in 1992, did not make a major impact due to the popularity of grunge music at the time. The group's followup album, Tragic Kingdom, however, helped launch the ska revival of the nineties. The third single from the album, "Don't Speak", set a record after spending sixteen weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart.
In 2004, No Doubt went on hiatus as lead singer Gwen Stefani, Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young all persued solo projects. Stefani's 2004 album reached multi-platinum status and several other band members spent their time recording albums and collaborating with other artists.
In 2009, No Doubt launched their return tour, and began preparations for the release of a new album.
