The Orb is an English electronic music duo known for popularizing chill out music in the nineties as well as spawning the genre of ambient house music. Founded in 1988 by Alex Paterson and KLF member Jimmy Cauty, The Orb began as ambient and dub DJs in London. Paterson has been the only constant member, working with a variety of other artists.
