Underoath is a hard rock band based in Tampa, Florida formed in 1998. Though their musical style has changed substantially since its inception in 1998, the band's latest work has been mostly in the vein of metalcore and post-hardcore, and considered to be screamo or emo-influenced by some. Underoath is also a Christian band though they are popular among both Christian and secular audiences.
