The New Shanghai Circus is one of the world's leading purveyors of China's prestigious, 2,500 year-old art form. Many of the performers started training in Hai at the age of nine, learning skills developed originally in village festivals. The performers learn overall acrobatics but specialize in one particular skill. Together they are some of the best acrobats, contortionists, bicyclists, magicians and jugglers in the world.
